Reliance jio has been creating a revolution in the wireless communication sector with its ultra cheap 4G data plans. Reliance Industries (RIL) published its Q3 (FY 2017-18) results on Friday and announced a profit within just 18 months of its commercial debut.
Currently jio has a subscriber base of 16.1 millions as of December,2017 and it’s the fastest growing mobile network in India. The Mukesh Ambani backed telecom company said its Digital services Business made standalone net profit of Rs.504 crores for the Q3, with revenues standing at Rs. 6,879 crores. Jio Reported An Average revenue of Rs. 154 per subscriber per month.
In a statement RIL said, “The growth in subscriber base is getting further accelerated through the launch of Jio Phone, which has expanded the reach of Jio Digital Services to all the feature phone users as well. Reliance Retail Ltd is geared to increase capacity of supply of Jio Phone, considering the tremendous response from Indians to embrace Digital Life,”.
According to report, Jio users have consumed more than 4.31 Billion gigabytes of data, 9.6 GB Data per subscriber per month in this period. It also includes video consumption of more than 2 billion hours per month. Also Reliance Jio posted the highest voice consumption in the Quarter with a voice traffic of 311.13 billion minutes, which is 694 minutes per user per month.
Jio’s entry in the telecommunication market caused a huge upheal in the sector, it effected the rival telecom operator badly and delayed revenues for them. It’s only the Users who have benefited from its ultra-cheap data plans. Currently Jio launched more new budget friendly tariff plans including happy new year 2018 Offer, and currently introduced packs under Rs. 100 to boost its growth.
